The situation:

A leading German logistics company found it increasingly difficult to plan budgets accurately due to higher complexity of business processes and the enormous masses of data to be considered.

High workloads and time pressure were typical for the regular planning rounds, especially in the controlling department.

In spite of tremendous effort, deadlines could only rarely be met and the results did not fulfil the requirements.

The solution:

After a thorough methodological analysis of business processes and the data structure Ineight consultants were able to develop a simulation and forecasting application which is based on profound statistic planning methods.

The application made it possible to enter diverse parameters and so to simulate various possible budget scenarios. As a consequence the workload could be reduced by up to 80 %. At the same time the planning results were highly accurate.
